With the expertise of Obtronics the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce commenced the long awaited and planned training program, AI for Small Businesses, under its ELEVATE program.

The first session was an engaging introduction to the subject Artificial Intelligence (AI), that focused on building a strong foundation upon which practical skills and tools in Artificial Intelligence will be explored.

The Program is being led by Anna-Kaye Boodhoo, General Manager of Orbtronics. In the first session, participants were introduced to what AI is (and isn’t), and explored different types of AI programs, and addressed common misconceptions surrounding its use.

The first session also examined the difference between traditional automation and AI-driven automation, while identifying real opportunities to apply AI within businesses to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer engagement.

Importantly, the session emphasized responsible and ethical AI use, reinforcing the need for human oversight, data protection, and critical evaluation of AI-generated outputs.

With this string start the Chamber is confident that participants will be engrossed in this interactive training program, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to embrace and put into use Artificial Intelligence tools in their business. The program continues every Wednesday for the next four weeks. (Contact the Chamber to register interest in taking part in the next AI Business course (info@stluciachamber.org).
