Chamber’s Inventory & Supply Chain Workshop with Dr. Harvi Millar Delivers High-Impact Learning Experience
The highly anticipated and long called for workshop “Strengthening Your Inventory & Supply Chain Management” took place and lived up to its “excellent and high value billing”. The two-day interactive and practical workshop took place on January 29th and 30th, 2025 at the Chamber Conference Room at the Secretariat Headquarters Bois D’Orange. 23 keen participants from 13 organizations from the public and private sector took a journey through the intricacies, advanced systems and techniques used Fortune 500 firms when managing and seeking to get the best out of their inventory and supply chain systems.
Inventory and supply chain transactions account for up to 60% of business costs, thus proper andefficient management of these processes are critical to achieving and maintainingcompetitiveness and of course containing costs. The workshop explored keyconcepts including inventory classification, strategic utilization, supplychain risks, in addition to examining best practice in planning andreplenishment. Participants engaged in practical exercises, team-basedproblem-solving, and discussions on current challenges within theirorganizations.
The workshop received positive feedback from participants who praised theinteractive format, practical applications, and real-world insights shared by theFacilitator. Many attendees highlighted that the session provided immediate actionabletakeaways to improve inventory and supply chain operations. Of special note wasthe team exercises that helped develop actionable solutions tailored to theirspecific company challenges.
As a Chamber flagship program thathas been held over the years this workshop has train a new generation ofinventory and supply chain managers and continues to be highlyimpactful, giving firms a high return on their training investment. Inconsideration of the high number of persons interested in the program, theChamber has agreed to offer a second session that will be held, at a date to beconfirmed with Dr. Millar.
Dr. Millar for his part expressed his gratitude to the Chamber forcontinuing to give him the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience ina tangible way with the St. Lucia Business Community and pledges to makehimself available whenever his busy schedule permits.
