Comptroller of Customs & Excise to Address Chamber Executive Luncheon

January 16, 2025, at Coco Palm Hotel

The Comptroller of Customs & Excise Department, Mr. Sherman Emmanuel is the featured presenter at the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce first Executive Luncheon for 2025 to be held on January 16th, 2025, starting at 12:30 p.m. This is the first Chamber Executive Luncheon for the new year and is most apt as both the Chamber and the Customs and Excise Department have placed improved service and enhanced efficiency at the border as top priorities for the New Year. The drive to enhance service delivery, improve efficiency, enhance revenue collection, speed up movement of goods has been receiving studied attention from the Comptroller over the last year. This attention has been purposefully supported by the Government through the Ministry of Finance by way of the recruitment of a Consulting firm to provide technical support to the Department in that regard.

DSL Limited a consulting firm with established expertise in process improvement, and use of digital solutions in a customs service environment has, over the last year, worked with the department to review, revise, enhance and modernize processes, systems and methods of work. The Customs and Excise Department is now prepared to share those developments with the wider Business community who will be the front-line beneficiaries of that work.

The Comptroller speaking under the theme “Transforming Our Customer Journey: Faster, Smarter, Greener Trade” will outline the measures to be introduced that will ensure that excellent faster and smarter service will be delivered to customers of the Department.

Members of the business community are invited to attend this important and informative Luncheon on a key component of the Chamber Business Agenda. Members will have the opportunity to ask questions in question-and-answer session following the Comptroller’s address. The Executive Luncheon subject aligns nicely with the work the Chamber is pursuing with SLASPA to alleviate the myriad issues faced by the business community at the Ports.

The Executive Luncheon is being presented by the Customs & Excise Department and the DSL in conjunction with the Chamber and takes place on January 16th 2025, at Coco Palm Conference Room. Interested individuals are encouraged to secure their place early, as spaces are limited. To register and obtain more information about the event, please contact the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce at 452 -3165.
